Boxing Has Six Punches. What About the Seventh?

Boxing has six traditional punches. But what about the seventh? That's the question at the heart of a new iGaming Review interview with our founder Lee McFarland and Claire Osborne, Managing Director Interactive at Inspired Entertainment, our Platinum Impact Partner.

The seventh punch is the one you don't see coming: a sudden diagnosis, a redundancy, the setback that knocks people sideways. It's exactly why Behind The Gloves exists, and why industry professionals are training for Midnight Mayhem, our charity fight night during ICE Barcelona, with a €200,000 goal for 25 charities.

Bringing the industry into the ring

The interview goes behind the story of how early-morning training sessions at trade shows grew into a full fight night, and why people sign up: community, health, and facing their fears on equal terms.

Claire explains why Inspired chose to get behind the night and to sponsor their own fighter, Robin Hutchison. For a team that works largely remotely, the training has become a new way to connect.

This is a chance for me to get involved without having to get in the ring.

Claire Osborne, Managing Director Interactive, Inspired Entertainment

Safety first, always

Lee also talks through how fighters are matched by weight and age, the protective kit that's compulsory, the medical team on site, and the WBC Cares UK certified officials who will be in charge on the night.

If at any point we don't think a fight's going to be safe, we'll pull it.
