Lee McFarland and Michael Brady on the Gaming News Canada Show

Ahead of ICE Barcelona 2026, our founder Lee McFarland joined Michael Brady, Chair and founder of Bede Gaming, on episode 194 of the Gaming News Canada Show with host Steve McAllister.

How it started

Lee explains how Behind The Gloves began in March 2023, towards the end of the pandemic, as a way to help people reconnect with their peers as they came back from remote working. Early-morning sessions at industry conferences, built around skipping, combinations, footwork and bag work, soon became a fixture of the event calendar, alongside company team-building days.

The impact on Bede

Michael, who was trained by Lee for his own fight at the SBC Boxing Championship in aid of Oliver's Wish, talks about what the sessions have meant to him personally and to the Bede Gaming team members who take part. Michael now sits on our Advisory Board.

The episode also covers Bede's partnership with OLG in Ontario and its plans for Canada.

Sold out at ICE

As the conference season kicked off at ICE Barcelona, our sessions there were fully booked, with a waiting list for anyone hoping to join.
