Rent Paid: Switzerland, SiGMA Rome and 6am Sparring
Eleven weeks out from Midnight Mayhem: Lee and WBC Cares UK train Sapar in Switzerland, Kevin Reid hits the pads, Chris and Antonio spar at 6am and Line Peteri boxes at SiGMA Rome.

In fight camp, “rent paid” means you turned up and did the work, whatever else the week threw at you. With eleven weeks to go until Midnight Mayhem at La Paloma, Barcelona, on 19 January 2027, our fighters have been paying it in gyms, before work and in the middle of a conference.
Kev on the pads
On Wednesday evening Alfie from WBC Cares UK shared footage of Kevin Reid “getting that work in” on the pads. Kev, of 1x2 Network, fights Alex Pratt in Bout 6 at Light Heavyweight. He’s backed by NEXT.io and fighting for the Lexden Springs Appeal.
6am sparring: Chris and Antonio
Friday started early. Chris Anwyl and Antonio K Moreno were sparring at 6am, and Chris summed it up in two words: #rentpaid. Chris meets Robin Hutchison in Bout 2 at Cruiserweight and is fighting for The Fertility Alliance. Antonio, backed by Amusnet, faces Alec Gehlot in Bout 9 at Light Heavyweight for Cancer Relief Center Gibraltar.
Line at SiGMA World Rome
Most people go to a conference to network. Line Peteri went to SiGMA World in Rome and boxed at 7am on the Wednesday with Samuel Ericsson. That came after a weekend of two Deadly Dozen races with 45 minutes between them, plus a 23 km trail run that took her 4 hours and 10 minutes. Her verdict: “Don’t do this in heels and short dress.”
Line, of AFTX, meets Ferial Abarghooie in Bout 3 at Lightweight. She’s backed by Betable and fighting for The Rox Queens.
Switzerland: training with Sapar
When the fighter can’t come to the gym, the gym goes to the fighter. This week Lee and some of the WBC Cares UK team travelled to Switzerland to train with Sapar Karyagdyyev. Sapar, of Gamingtec, fights Tamas Kusztos in Bout 4 at Middleweight. He’s backed by Gamingtec and fighting for Action Medical Research.
Next up: Churchill’s, Saturday 7 November
Training and recovery go together, and with this many miles in the legs, rest days matter as much as rounds. Tomorrow, Saturday 7 November, the team gets together again at Churchill’s in Vauxhall, London, from 12 to 2 for a group session for everyone who can make it: a chance to hone skills with WBC Cares UK and check in on how everyone’s training is going.
Every round they put in is for a cause. See the full fight card, or back a fighter.
