Meet the Fighters: Eight Midnight Mayhem Stories in Their Own Words

Rosa, Becky, Robin, Chris, Steve, Paul, Alex and Wayne on camera: who they are, who they’re fighting and the causes they’re stepping into the ring for. Press play on all eight.

Twenty people from across the iGaming industry are stepping into the ring at La Paloma, Barcelona, on 19 January 2027. Most of them have never boxed before. Every one of them is fighting for a cause close to their heart, and none of them is doing it alone: the community around this fight camp has been amazing, with fighters from the SBC Oliver’s Wish nights passing on their advice to the class of 2027. Eight of our fighters have now told their story on camera, so grab a coffee and press play.

Bout 1: Rosa Kolkka vs Becky Johnson-Kent

The card opens with both corners on camera. Rosa Kolkka of EveryMatrix in Malta fights at 68 kg. Backed by EveryMatrix, Rosa is fighting for Centrul FILIA, a Romanian organisation supporting women and girls in their pursuit of safety, rights and equality.

Facing her is Becky Johnson-Kent of WorldGaming / Clarion Events, also at 68 kg, backed by MrQ. Becky is fighting for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, which funds research, equipment and care at The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer hospital. In her video, Becky sits down with fellow fighter Ferial “Fero” Abarghooie, who meets Line Peteri in Bout 3: a perfect example of the community spirit behind this fight camp.

Bout 2: Robin Hutchison vs Chris Anwyl

Both corners of Bout 2 have stepped in front of the camera. Robin Hutchison of Square In The Air fights at 85 kg, backed by Inspired iGaming, and is raising money for Parkinson’s UK, which funds research and supports everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Across the ring, Spain-based Chris Anwyl fights at 80 kg for The Fertility Alliance, which supports people going through fertility problems, funds research and raises awareness. Chris is still open for a sponsor, so if your company wants to be in his corner, get in touch.

Bout 5: Steve Mayes vs Paul Dolman-Darrall

Bout 5 has a twist: both fighters are raising money for the same cause, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, which supports seriously ill children and their families. Whoever gets their hand raised, GOSH wins.

Steve Mayes of Hacksaw Gaming fights at 70 kg, backed by Spribe, the studio behind Aviator.

Paul Dolman-Darrall of 99 Royale meets him at the same weight, with 99 Royale in his corner.

A community in their corner

One of the best things about this fight camp has been the community around it. A number of fighters from the SBC Charity Boxing Championship nights for Oliver’s Wish Foundation have been helping out, sharing what they learned on their own journey to the ring and giving the class of 2027 some hard-earned advice. Nobody walks to the ring alone. Read more about where industry boxing began.
